Stop Guessing: Let Our Engineers Find the Right Connector

Not sure which FasTest connector is right for your port, pressure, or media? That’s exactly what the Application Evaluation is for. Our product and custom engineers review thousands of applications every year across automotive, aerospace, HVAC-R, compressed gas, medical, fluid power, and appliance industries. Send us your application details and we’ll do the engineering work to identify the right solution.

There’s no cost and no obligation. Whether you have a straightforward threaded port that needs a standard connector or a complex sealing challenge that requires custom engineering, the Application Evaluation is the fastest way to get a recommendation from someone who has solved problems like yours.

What Happens After You Submit Your Application Evaluation

The Application Evaluation process is designed to be fast and thorough:

  1. You submit the form below with as much detail as possible about your application—port geometry, test pressure, media, surface type, and any drawings or photos you can provide.
  2. A FasTest engineer reviews your submission, typically within 1–2 business days. For standard applications, this is often the same day.
  3. You receive a recommendation: For standard connector applications, your FasTest engineer will identify the right product and provide a quote. For applications that require a custom design, you’ll receive a concept proposal with timeline and pricing.
  4. For custom projects, FasTest manages the design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing process through to delivery of a production-ready solution.

The entire process starts with the form below. The more complete your submission, the faster and more accurate the recommendation.

What to Have Ready Before You Fill Out the Form

The Application Evaluation form asks for specific technical details so our engineers can make an accurate recommendation. Here’s what each key field is used for and how to prepare:

Form FieldWhat to Provide & Why It Matters
Test PressureThe pressure at which you need to test or seal. Include units (psi, bar, kPa). This determines connector pressure rating and seal material selection.
Test TemperatureThe temperature of the media or environment during testing. Extreme temperatures affect seal material compatibility and connector performance.
Test MediumThe gas or fluid used in your test (air, nitrogen, helium, water, oil, refrigerant, etc.). Media compatibility drives seal material and connector body material selection.
Flow RequiredIf your application involves fluid transfer or requires a specific flow rate, include the value. This affects connector bore size and hose selection.
Acceptable Leak RateYour pass/fail threshold for the test. This helps our engineers select the right seal type and sealing method for your sensitivity requirements.
Type of TestBubble leak, pressure decay, proof test, tracer gas, helium mass spectrometer, etc. Different test types have different sealing requirements.
Type of ApplicationManual or automated? Twist-to-seal or lever action? Pneumatically operated? This determines the actuation method and station integration approach.
Surface to be SealedMachined, cast, threaded, or other. Surface finish directly affects seal design—rough castings need different sealing approaches than precision-machined bores.
Diameter to Seal / GripThe ID or OD of the port or tube you need to seal or grip. Precise dimensions ensure the right connector size and seal fit.
Drawings / CAD ModelsAttach port drawings, CAD files, or dimensioned photos if available. Visual references dramatically speed up the evaluation and reduce back-and-forth.

Don’t have all of this information? That’s okay. Fill in what you can and our engineers will follow up to gather any missing details. A partial submission is always better than no submission—it starts the conversation.

The Application Evaluation Is for Everyone—Not Just Custom Projects

Many visitors assume the Application Evaluation is only for complex or custom sealing challenges. In reality, it’s the best starting point for any connector selection question:

  • Standard product selection: You know you need a sealing connector but aren’t sure which FasTest product fits your port, pressure, or media. Submit an evaluation and we’ll recommend the right standard product.
  • Modified standard products: A standard connector almost fits but you need a modification—different seal material, adjusted dimensions, or a custom mounting interface. We’ll quote a modified standard product.
  • Fully custom connector design: Your port geometry, clearance, or operating conditions don’t match any standard product. Our custom engineering team will design a solution from scratch.
  • Complete system solutions: You need a complete set of connectors, fixtures, and tooling for a test station or production line. We’ll configure a system solution tailored to your application.
  • Replacing existing tooling: You’re using in-house tooling (clamps, pad seals, improvised fixtures) and experiencing false failures, slow cycle times, or ergonomic issues. We’ll evaluate your situation and recommend an upgrade path.
  • New product or station design: You’re designing a new product or test station and want to specify the right connectors from the beginning. Early evaluation prevents costly retrofits later.

No Cost, No Obligation—Here’s Why

FasTest offers the Application Evaluation at no charge because it’s the most efficient way for both sides to get to the right answer. Our engineers review your application, match it against our standard product library and custom capabilities, and provide a recommendation—all before any purchase commitment.

There’s no sales pressure, no mandatory follow-up calls, and no obligation to proceed. If a FasTest solution isn’t the right fit for your application, we’ll tell you. Our reputation is built on solving real problems, not on overselling connectors into applications where they don’t belong.

Trusted by Engineers Worldwide

FasTest engineers evaluate thousands of applications every year for manufacturers across automotive, aerospace, HVAC-R, compressed gas, medical, fluid power, and appliance industries. Here’s what sets the evaluation apart:

  • Engineer-led evaluation: Applications are reviewed by experienced product and custom engineers, not a sales team. You get a technical recommendation, not a pitch.
  • Fast turnaround: Most standard product evaluations are turned around the same day. Custom projects receive a concept response within 1–2 business days.
  • Deep application experience: With thousands of custom projects completed and a comprehensive standard product library, our team has almost certainly solved a challenge similar to yours.
  • Tailored recommendations: Based on your specific requirements—not on assumptions or generic recommendations.

Need an Application Evaluation?

Based on the information submitted, FasTest products engineers evaluate the application and select the most suitable connector for the application. For custom products, a formal quote is then created for that specific application. When the order is received, the custom products engineers design, develop and manufacture the connector in accordance to your specific requirements. Custom products connectors are non-returnable. Therefore, it is important to submit all the information requested clearly and accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Application Evaluation?

An Application Evaluation is a free engineering review of your sealing connection requirements. You submit your application details—port geometry, pressure, media, and operating conditions—and a FasTest engineer recommends the right connector solution, whether that’s a standard product, a modification, or a custom design.

Is there a cost for the Application Evaluation?

No. The Application Evaluation is completely free with no obligation. FasTest engineers review your application and provide a recommendation at no charge.

How long does it take to get a response?

Most standard product evaluations are turned around the same business day. Custom applications typically receive an initial concept response within 1–2 business days. Complex projects that require detailed engineering analysis may take slightly longer, and your FasTest contact will communicate the timeline.

What if I don’t have all the technical details the form asks for?
