The External Seal-Only Connector for Tubes and Threads
The FasTest FE is an external seal-only connector that makes instant, non-marring, leak-free connections to the outside of tubes and threaded features up to 500 psi (34 bar). Rather than threading onto the part, the FasTest FE seals against the outer surface — so it connects in seconds without marring, scratching, or wearing the component, even over threaded, rough, or oily surfaces.
Uniform sealing is the FasTest FE’s defining strength: the seal applies even force around the full circumference of the tube or thread, producing a leak-tight connection on surfaces that would defeat a rigid fitting. This makes it well suited to high-volume automated production testing of air, gas, and liquid systems, where speed, consistency, and part protection all matter.
The FasTest FE connects to a wide range of external features — straight, swaged, expanded, flared, beaded, barbed, and formed tubes, JIC 37° and ORFS swivel nuts, NPT, BSPT/BSPP, and metric external threads, 45° flare, and compression fittings. The series spans multiple sizes, starting with the FasTest FE01, so the connector can be matched precisely to the tube diameter or thread being tested.
When connecting to threaded applications, the FasTest FE requires pilot pressure of 400–600 psi to fully energize the seal; FasTest recommends pairing it with a Pilot Booster for these applications. The FasTest FE is also available with ICON™ intelligent connection technology, adding seal verification, safety interlocks, and real-time data for PLC-integrated automated stations.
The Problem the FasTest FE Solves
Making a fast, repeatable external connection for leak testing is difficult with rigid fittings — especially on imperfect surfaces:
-
Threading marks and wears parts: Threading a test fitting onto a finished part marks the threads and wears them over repeated cycles — eventually scrapping good components. The FasTest FE seals externally without threading, so it doesn’t mar the part.
-
Rough and oily surfaces leak: A rigid fitting needs a clean, precise sealing surface. On threaded, rough, or oily tube ends, surface imperfections create leak paths. The FasTest FE’s uniform seal conforms to these surfaces for a leak-tight connection.
-
Many feature and thread types: Production lines test a wide variety of tube features and external threads. A single rigid fitting can’t cover that range, but the FasTest FE seals over many feature types with one connector family.
-
High-volume automation: Manual threaded connections cap throughput and add operator variation. The FasTest FE’s instant external seal and pneumatic actuation are built for automated, high-volume production.
The FasTest FE solves all of this with an instant, non-marring external seal that conforms to threaded, rough, and oily surfaces, covers a wide range of features and sizes, and is ready for automated production testing.
Key Features
Instant, Non-Marring External Seal
The FasTest FE seals against the outside of a tube or thread in a single motion — no threading, no wrenching, no thread tape. Because it seals externally without rotating onto or compressing the part, it does not mar, scratch, or wear the component, protecting finished, high-value parts across thousands of test cycles. Connections take seconds instead of the time a threaded fitting requires.
Uniform Sealing on Threaded, Rough, or Oily Surfaces
The FasTest FE applies uniform sealing force around the full circumference of the feature, producing a leak-tight connection even over threaded, rough, or oily surfaces that defeat rigid fittings. This uniform seal is what lets the FE connect reliably to as-formed tube ends and finished threads without a precisely machined sealing surface.
Built for Automated, High-Volume Production
With pneumatic, semi-automated, and fully-automated actuation, the FasTest FE integrates into automated test cells where consistency and throughput matter. The same connection quality on every cycle eliminates the operator-to-operator variation of manual threaded connections, making it ideal for high-volume air, gas, and liquid testing.
Wide Feature & Thread Coverage — Including the FE01
The FasTest FE connects to straight, swaged, expanded, flared, beaded, barbed, and formed tubes; JIC 37° and ORFS swivel nuts; NPT, BSPT/BSPP, and metric external threads; 45° flare; and compression fittings. The series is offered in multiple sizes — starting with the FasTest FE01 — so the connector matches the exact tube diameter or thread being tested.
Pilot Pressure for Threaded Applications
For threaded applications, the FasTest FE requires 400–600 psi of pilot pressure to fully energize the seal against the thread. FasTest recommends pairing the FE with a Pilot Booster for these applications, ensuring a consistent, leak-tight seal on threaded parts.
ICON™ Intelligent Connection Technology
The FasTest FE is available with ICON™ for select models, adding SURE SEAL™ digital seal verification, LED feedback (green = good connection), safety interlock signals, and real-time data output — giving automated lines a verified-seal handshake to the PLC before each test cycle begins.

Where the FasTest FE Is Used
Tube & Line Leak Testing
The FasTest FE seals to the external features of tubes and lines — straight, flared, beaded, formed, and more — for air, gas, and liquid leak testing. Its instant, non-marring seal makes fast, repeatable connections without threading onto or marking the tube, ideal for high-volume tube and line production testing.
Threaded Component Testing
For finished threaded parts, the FasTest FE seals over the external thread without threading onto it, protecting the thread from wear.
