The Internal Seal-Only Connector for Bores, Tubes, and Threads
The FasTest FI is an internal seal-only connector that makes instant, leak-free connections inside holes, bores, tubes, and threaded ports up to 120 psi (8.3 bar). Rather than threading into the part, the FasTest FI inserts and seals against the inner surface — so it connects in seconds without threading onto or marring the bore, even on smooth or threaded tubes.
The uniform FasTest seal is the connector’s defining strength: it applies even force around the full inner circumference of the bore or thread, producing a leak-tight connection on surfaces that would defeat a rigid plug. This uniform FasTest seal holds reliably even into threaded, rough, and oily surfaces — making the FI ideal for vacuum and pressure testing, fluid filling, and flushing in high-volume automated production.
The FasTest FI connects to a wide range of internal features — holes and bores; straight, swaged, expanded, flared, beaded, barbed, and formed tubes; NPT, BSPT/BSPP, and metric internal threads; and O-ring boss/flare ports. With pneumatic, semi-automated, and fully-automated actuation, it integrates directly into automated test cells where consistency and throughput matter.
For pressure applications, the FasTest FI and the test part should be rigidly fixtured to prevent separation under pressure (fixturing is not required for vacuum applications). The FasTest FI is also available with ICON™ intelligent connection technology, adding seal verification, safety interlocks, and real-time data for PLC-integrated automated stations.
The Problem the FasTest FI Solves
Making a fast, reliable internal connection for leak testing is difficult with threaded plugs and rigid fittings — especially on imperfect bores:
-
Threading marks and wears bores: Threading a plug into a finished bore marks and wears the internal threads over repeated cycles, eventually scrapping good parts. The FasTest seal seals internally without threading, protecting the bore.
-
Rough and oily bores leak: A rigid plug needs a clean, precise internal surface. On threaded, rough, or oily bores, surface imperfections create leak paths. The uniform FasTest seal conforms to these surfaces for a leak-tight connection.
-
Many internal feature types: Production lines test a wide variety of internal bores, tube ends, and threads. A single rigid plug can’t cover that range, but the FasTest FI seals a wide variety of internal features with one connector.
-
High-volume automation: Manual threaded plugs cap throughput and add operator variation. The FasTest FI’s instant internal seal and pneumatic actuation are built for automated, high-volume production.
The FasTest FI solves all of this with an instant internal FasTest seal that conforms to threaded, rough, and oily bores, covers a wide range of internal features, and is ready for automated production testing.
Key Features
Instant, Leak-Free Internal Connections
The FasTest FI inserts into a bore, tube, or threaded port and seals in a single motion — no threading, no wrenching. Connections take seconds and are leak-free for vacuum and pressure testing, fluid filling, and flushing, making the FI well suited to high-volume production where every second of connection time counts.
Seals Internally to Smooth or Threaded Tubes
The FasTest FI seals against the inside of a wide variety of smooth or threaded tubes and bores. Because it seals internally without threading onto the part, it protects the bore from thread wear and connects to both smooth and threaded internal features with the same tool.
Uniform FasTest Seal on Threaded, Rough, or Oily Surfaces
The uniform FasTest seal applies even sealing force around the full inner circumference of the bore or thread, producing a leak-tight connection even into threaded, rough, or oily surfaces that defeat rigid plugs. This uniform FasTest seal is what lets the FI connect reliably to as-machined bores and finished internal threads without a precisely finished sealing surface.
Built for Automated, High-Volume Production
With pneumatic, semi-automated, and fully-automated actuation, the FasTest FI integrates into automated test cells where consistency and throughput matter. The same FasTest seal quality on every cycle eliminates the operator-to-operator variation of manual threaded plugs, making it ideal for high-volume vacuum, pressure, and fluid testing.
Fixturing for Pressure Applications
For pressure testing, the FasTest FI and the test part should be rigidly fixtured to prevent separation when under pressure. Fixturing is not required for vacuum applications, where atmospheric pressure holds the connection. This ensures a safe, secure connection across the FI’s full pressure range.
ICON™ Intelligent Connection Technology
The FasTest FI is available with ICON™ for select models, adding SURE SEAL™ digital seal verification, LED feedback (green = good connection), safety interlock signals, and real-time data output — giving automated lines a verified FasTest seal handshake to the PLC before each test cycle begins.

Where the FasTest FI Is Used
Internal Bore & Hole Leak Testing
The FasTest FI seals inside holes and bores for vacuum and pressure leak testing. The uniform FasTest seal makes a leak-tight connection inside as-machined bores without threading or marring, supporting high-volume production testing of machined parts and housings.
Tube & Threaded-Port Testing
For internal tube ends and threaded ports — NPT, BSPP, metric, and O-ring boss — the FasTest FI seals internally without threading onto the part, protecting the thread from wear. This makes it ideal for component leak and pressure testing across smooth and threaded internal features.
Fluid Filling & Flushing
Beyond leak testing, the FasTest FI is used for fluid filling and flushing, where its instant internal FasTest seal makes a fast, leak-free connection to fill or flush a part. The internal seal keeps fluid contained for clean, efficient filling operations.
Automated Production Test Cells
With pneumatic and ICON™-equipped configurations, the FasTest FI integrates into automated test cells and assembly lines, delivering fast, repeatable, verified internal connections across high-volume vacuum, pressure, and fluid testing where manual threaded plugs would bottleneck the line.
