CONFIGURATION NOTE:
ME101 connectors are a modified ME Series quick connector with larger housing to increase seal movement. This movement maximizes seal compression and is ideal for leak or pressure testing a wider range of small or unusual shaped medical devices without the use or cost of a pilot booster. Select 1/4NPT to use this option if your product is near the lower end of the sealing range, or if you have an unusual shaped part.

The External Seal-Only Connector for Medical Device Testing
The FasTest ME is an external seal-only connector built for leak and pressure testing medical and life-science devices — luers, catheters, tubes, and other cylindrical components. Rather than threading onto a luer lock or clamping a fitting, the FasTest ME seals against the outside of the component instantly, creating a leak-tight connection without marring or deforming delicate molded plastic parts.
Engineered for medical manufacturing, the FasTest ME is cleaned and lubricated for oxygen-safe service and built with FDA-approved seal materials. It operates across an exceptionally wide pressure range — from deep vacuum (10 mtorr) up to 500 psi (34.4 bar) — covering the vacuum-decay, pressure-decay, and flow test methods common in medical device testing. Pneumatic, semi-automated, and fully-automated actuation make it well suited to high-volume production test cells.
The FasTest ME series includes two models. The base ME001 covers the standard sealing range, while the ME101 uses a larger housing that increases seal movement and compression — ideal for leak or pressure testing small or unusually shaped medical devices near the lower end of the sealing range, without the added cost and complexity of a pilot booster.
The FasTest ME is available with ICON™ intelligent connection technology, adding digital seal verification, LED feedback, safety interlocks, and real-time data for PLC-integrated automated medical production lines.
The Problem the FasTest ME Solves
Leak testing delicate medical devices in high volumes presents challenges that threaded or manual connections can’t meet:
-
Delicate, marring-prone parts: Molded luers, catheter hubs, and thin-wall tubes are easily scratched or deformed by threaded luer-lock connections or hard clamping — and a marred sealing surface can fail downstream or scrap the part.
-
Small and unusual geometries: Many medical devices are small or irregularly shaped and fall near the lower end of a connector’s sealing range, where a standard connector may need a pilot booster to seal reliably — adding cost and complexity.
-
High-volume, automated production: Medical lines run at high takt times and increasingly rely on automation. Connections that require threading, careful alignment, or manual technique cap throughput and introduce operator-to-operator variation.
-
Cleanliness and material compliance: Medical testing demands FDA-approved seal materials and oxygen-safe, contamination-controlled tooling — requirements ordinary industrial connectors don’t meet.
The FasTest ME addresses all of this: an instant, non-marring external seal; FDA-approved, oxygen-safe construction; automation-ready actuation; and the ME101 option that seals small or unusual parts without a pilot booster.
Key Features
Instant, Non-Marring External Seal
The FasTest ME seals against the outside of a luer, catheter, tube, or cylindrical component in a single motion — no threading, no luer-lock engagement, no clamping. Because it seals externally without rotating against or compressing the part, it does not mar, scratch, or deform delicate molded surfaces, protecting both the device and downstream test integrity.
FDA-Approved Seals, Oxygen-Safe Construction
The FasTest ME is built with FDA-approved seal materials and is cleaned and lubricated for oxygen-safe service. This makes it suitable for medical and life-science testing where material compliance and contamination control are mandatory — requirements that ordinary industrial connectors cannot satisfy.
Wide Pressure Range: Deep Vacuum to 500 psi
The FasTest ME operates from deep vacuum (10 mtorr / micron) up to 500 psi (34.4 bar), one of the widest ranges of any medical connector. This single tool covers vacuum-decay, pressure-decay, and flow test methods, simplifying tooling across a range of device test specifications.
Built for Automated, High-Volume Production
With pneumatic, semi-automated, and fully-automated actuation, the FasTest ME integrates into automated medical test cells where consistency and throughput matter. The same connection quality on cycle 100,000 as on cycle 1 eliminates the operator-dependent variation of manual luer connections.
ME001 and ME101 Models
The base ME001 covers the standard sealing range. The ME101 features a larger housing that increases seal movement and compression, allowing it to seal small or unusually shaped devices near the lower end of the range without a pilot booster — reducing cost and station complexity. Select the 1/4 NPT option to use the ME101 configuration for borderline or irregular parts.
ICON™ Intelligent Connection Technology
The FasTest ME is available with ICON™ for select models, adding SURE SEAL™ digital seal verification, LED feedback, safety interlock signals, and real-time data output — giving automated medical lines a verified-seal handshake to the PLC before each test cycle begins.

Where the FasTest ME Is Used
Luer & Luer-Fitting Testing
The FasTest ME seals externally to male and female luers and luer fittings for leak and flow testing, without threading onto the luer lock. This protects the molded luer surface from marring and delivers consistent seals across high-volume luer production.
Catheter & Lumen Testing
Catheter hubs and tube sets require leak-tight sealing without collapsing or deforming thin-wall lumens. The FasTest ME’s gentle external seal connects to catheter components instantly, supporting vacuum-decay and pressure-decay testing of single- and multi-lumen devices.
Syringe & Cylindrical Component Testing
The FasTest ME seals to syringe barrels and other cylindrical medical components for leak and pressure testing, sealing the outside of the part without scratching glass or plastic surfaces — important for both test accuracy and cosmetic quality.
High-Volume Automated Medical Production
With pneumatic and ICON™-equipped configurations, the FasTest ME integrates into automated medical test cells and assembly lines, delivering fast, repeatable, verified connections across high-volume device production where manual luer connections would bottleneck the line.
FasTest ME vs. a Threaded Luer-Lock or Manual Connection
| Threaded / Manual Connection | FasTest ME | |
